"Inspiration can be found in a pile of junk. Sometimes, you can put it together
with a good imagination and invent something." -Thomas Edison

Navigation 2009 Mixed Media on Wood
Welcome. I love showing my work so I am glad you landed here. I am a self-taught artist and I work in many different media including mixed media, acrylic, ink pen,
collage, wood, plastic, metal, hand-pulled prints, digital media and more. My work has been described as abstract, surrealistic and inspirational. My works are
in many private collections including Vanderbilt University's Children's Hospital. In addition to being a visual artist, I am also a composer and recording artist. Here is a link with more info on my music

Artist Statement
I take an intuitive approach to creating that incorporates found and recycled materials. I also
approach it as a game by keeping the evidence of my hand out of the work. I look for different
ways to put color on the surface; for example, I try not to use brushes and allow my body's
natural movements to determine how I place color and objects on the surface. By placing color
and materials in a way that seems random at the time, images form organically and become
more concrete through the process. When a sense of balance in the piece is attained this tells
me it is finished.
